-Strengthened strategic cooperation with a digital credential provider leveraging Japan’s national ID (“My Number Card”)
RaonSecure, a leading IT security and authentication platform company (Representative: SoonHyung Lee and Jeonga Lee), announced that it has signed a license agreement with Japanese cloud service specialist CyberLinks Inc. to promote the issuance business of digital credentials based on the OmniOne Digital ID W3C technology, targeting growth in the Japanese digital credentials market.
This agreement represents a meaningful step toward commercialization following the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in 2022 between RaonSecure and CyberLinks for the development of a distribution infrastructure for electronic certificates in Japan. Under the new agreement, CyberLinks plans to provide digital credential services leveraging the OmniOne Digital ID technology to Japanese customers in finance, retail, and public sectors.
CyberLinks is a leading Japanese cloud service company specializing in solutions for financial institutions, distribution, and public sector clients. The company has already issued over 1.4 million digital certificates, including TOEIC digital certifications, and is a recognized provider of authentication and electronic certificate issuance services leveraging Japan’s national digital ID system (“My Number Card”). With the Japanese government’s proactive digital innovation policies centered on the Digital Agency, demand for secure and reliable digital credential infrastructure is rapidly increasing.
The OmniOne Digital ID is RaonSecure’s blockchain-based identity and credentialing platform that supports secure issuance and verification of a wide range of digital certificates, including identity, qualifications, and credentials. The technology provides a trusted infrastructure that aligns with Japan’s digital reform initiatives and meets the needs of both public and private sector organizations.
RaonSecure further notes that its blockchain DID platform is a key technology to South Korea’s government-issued mobile ID ecosystem, underscoring its credibility and technological readiness.
“This partnership with CyberLinks promotes the Japanese digital credentialing market,” said SoonHyung Lee, CEO of RaonSecure. “By leveraging our proven FIDO multi-factor authentication technology and OmniOne Digital ID, we aim to grow the digital identity and credential market globally.”
Mizuma Itsunobu, CTO of CyberLinks, added: “We are committed to working closely with RaonSecure to ensure secure and stable adoption of their DID technology in Japan. Together, we will build successful use cases in the Japanese digital certificate market.”
RaonSecure also continues to achieve strong performance in Japan with its subscription-based biometric authentication service “TouchEn OnePass,” which has surpassed 9 million monthly active users (MAU). With the new agreement, RaonSecure plans to broaden its technology partnership from biometric authentication to digital credential services, further strengthening its partnership in Japan’s digital authentication ecosystem.
